What CambioHoy is

CambioHoy is a free currency converter built for two audiences: tourists visiting Argentina and Argentines who need to know what their money is worth. It works as soon as you open it, with no sign-up, in Spanish, English and Portuguese.

Why we built it

Argentina doesn't have a single exchange rate: the same price in pesos can cost you differently depending on how you exchange or pay. Most converters show just one rate; CambioHoy shows them all side by side so you can decide with clear information.

Where the rates come from

Dollar rates (official, blue, MEP, card and crypto) come from DolarApi.com, which aggregates quotes published by Argentine market sources. Other currencies come from ExchangeRate-API, with a backup service if it doesn't respond.

We query the sources every time you open the page and always show the date and time of the last update. If the sources don't respond, we show the last rates saved on your device with a visible notice.

How we calculate

• When you sell foreign currency to get pesos, we use the buy price.
• When you buy foreign currency with pesos, we use the sell price.
• The real, euro, Chilean peso, guaraní and the other currencies are converted as a cross rate through the US dollar, using the rate you choose.
• The card dollar only applies to payments with Argentine cards, so we never flag it as the best option when you sell currency.

Independence and funding

CambioHoy is not an exchange house, doesn't buy or sell currency and receives no money from banks or exchange houses to show their prices. The site is funded by advertising. Rates are for reference only and are not financial advice.
